Auckland Regional Public Health Service (www.arphs.govt.nz) plays a major role in supporting and strengthening healthy communities.
The Communicable Disease Control team is seeking a Public Health Nurse. The focus of this role is aimed at prevention, investigation, control and surveillance of communicable diseases according to policies and protocols.
You will need to have well developed interpersonal skills, demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The ability to work with a range of different cultures is essential.
This role is a permanent part-time (0.6 FTE), working 24 hours per week.

You will have an excellent track record of successful project delivery and outcome achievement. Strong communication and influencing skills are essential as you will need to shape the decisions and behaviours of others. Experience with successful change management processes is highly desirable. The role
Based in our central Greenlane offices, this exciting and varied role will see you doing the following:
- Taking ownership of projects within ARPHS, both those with an internal focus (improve organisational efficiency and processes) and an external focus (enhance achievement of health outcomes).
- Delivering project outcomes within agreed scopes, budgets and timelines.
- Having responsibility for project documentation, including project charters, plans, business cases and evaluations.
- Providing regular updates to those involved with the projects through communiqués, reports and presentations.
- Managing any risks associated with a particular project.
- Occasionally providing analytical support to operational decisions by examining a problem, investigating solutions and managing implementation of those solutions.
