Surveillance
Surveillance activities are a core part of the service provided by all programmes of the Auckland Regional Public Health Service. To date, disease surveillance has been focused mainly on communicable diseases because of legislative and contractual requirements to provide surveillance of notifiable diseases.
In future, non-communicable diseases, disease hazards and disease risk factors will be important elements of a surveillance system. For more detailed surveillance information contact our office on (09) 623 4600.
Surveillance reports on communicable diseases in the Auckland region are prepared on a regular basis by our surveillance team and include collated data from local authorities.
