Review of the Auckland Independent Vaccinator Authorisation Programme: Consultation Document
Summary
The independent vaccinator framework enables non-medical health professionals to be authorised to provide vaccinations without a prescription or standing order from a medical practitioner. In the Auckland region, the programme to authorise independent vaccinators is operated by Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS).
In recent years, the programme has grown in size and complexity. ARPHS is therefore undertaking a review of policy for the programme, to take account of these developments.
This consultation document (pdf 320kb) outlines options and proposals for the future of vaccinator authorisation in Auckland. Feedback from those with an interest in the area is welcomed.
