A Medical Officer of Health at Auckland Regional Public Health Service is responsible for independent vaccinator authorisation in the Auckland region.

Regulation 44A of the Medicines Regulations 1984 gives the Medical Officer of Health the power to authorise an independent vaccinator following a written application.
