Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS) provides services for the population of the three District Health Boards covering the Auckland region - Auckland District Health Board (ADHB), Counties Manukau District Health Board (CMDHB) and Waitemata District Health Board (WDHB). Our service spans from Kaiwaka in the north to Mercer in the south, including the Hauraki Gulf.
To many people ‘public health’ conjures up images of hospitals and sickness and has the same meaning as publicly funded health systems. However, public health is actually quite different from that – it has at its heart the aim of improving wellbeing, promoting positive health and preventing illness.
